20 Best Matches Of Brock Lesnar's Career
14. Vs. Kurt Angle - SummerSlam 2003
Three men are tied for the most appearances on this list, The Undertaker, John Cena and Kurt Angle. While The Deadman and the 16-time World Champion have used Hell in a Cell, No Disqualification and Extreme Rules matches to amplify their rivalries with The Beast, all the Olympic Gold Medalist needed to make their matches special was ring the bell.
Despite being the lowest rated on this list, do not think this was not an excellent affair in Brock and Kurt's WWE Championship trilogy. As was the case every time the two accomplished wrestlers squared off, their excellent mat game was on full display. In a rare sight, The Next Big Thing was frustrated early, as Angle controlled the initial stages of the match.
The title bout would soon break down into each man trying to execute their finishers and, after back and forth reversals, Kurt turned a beautiful overhead figure four head lock into the Angle Lock. Unfortunately for the WWE Champion, the referee had been inadvertently taken out and Brock tapping out fell on deaf ears. Vince McMahon, who had recently aligned with Lesnar, would appear hitting Angle with a steel chair leading to an F-5 for a nearfall.
The Chariman's interference was not enough as Kurt Angle rolled through a second F-5 into an Ankle Lock to force Lesnar to submit. The failed interference does slightly take away from this bout, but it was still a masterclass by two of WWE's best.
