Few wrestlers have had the emotional attachment to their hair that Michael 'PS' Hayes had.

As a member of the legendary Freebirds, Michael PS Hayes had long, flowing, platinum blonde hair that drew attention everywhere he went. It fit perfectly with his "Purely Sexy" rockstar-like character. So why in the world did he ever decide to cut it off?

For a job with the WWF.

Hayes had only been through the doors of WWE briefly back in the mid '80s, but when his in-ring career had come to an end, Michael once again looked to join the biggest wrestling promotion in the world.

Despite having a tryout match for WWE in February 1995, Hayes retired from in-ring competition but would still be hired as on-screen personality known as 'Dok Hendrix' with a catch...he had to cut his hair.

So Dok Hendrix debuted with short hair and became the co-host of WWF's morning program, Action Zone, as well as appearing on various other television shows throughout the mid-90s. Dok's most famous appearance as a member of the World Wrestling Federation came when he interviewed Stone Cold Steve Austin following the 1996 King Of The Ring tournament in which Austin 3:16 was born.

Since then, Dok Hendrix faded and Michaels Hayes re-emerged, long hair and all.
