25 Best Chris Jericho Moments
8. Chris Jericho vs. Lance Storm - ECW One Night Stand
Soon after WrestleMania 21, the WWE experienced a groundswell of support for a promotion that was thought dead years before: Extreme Championship Wrestling.
Although the company died in 2001, fans all around North America still chanted the promotion's acronym whenever something hardcore or "extreme" took place. The Rise and Fall of ECW DVD became one of the best selling WWE releases of all-time and soon fans were clamoring for an ECW return.
WWE gave the fans what they wanted in 2005 when they put on ECW One Night Stand from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The opening match of this event saw Chris Jericho face off against Lance Storm, who were not only longtime friends but also faced each other in their first-ever match in the wrestling business.
Jericho got right into the spirit of the reunion show, ditching his WWE-born Y2J character for the classic "Lionheart" Chris Jericho look. The crowd ate it up and the match did not disappoint.
In classic ECW fashion, the match was technically very good while also showcasing outside interference and weapon shots. Storm's former tag partner Justin Credible nailed Jericho with a Singapore cane and Lance was able to roll up his friend for the victory.
