After losing the WCW Cruiserweight title to Dean Malenko at Slamboree 1998, whiny heel Chris Jericho had the perfect excuse for losing that night: He was the victim of a conspiracy. You see, evil powers were plotting to keep Chris Jericho down in the world of wrestling and there was only one person who could help him: The President of the United States.

He blamed the WCW locker room for plotting against him because he was so talented and wonderful, then it became a plot by JJ Dillon (whom he nicknamed "Jo Jo") to keep Jericho down. Then, he accused media mogul Ted Turner of being involved in the plot, determining that he had to go to Washington DC to get this whole thing resolved.

Mr. Jericho Goes to Washington was yet another hilarious entry by Jericho into WCW's history. Jericho walked around the city with a sign that said "conspiracy victim" and requested to meet with President Bill Clinton about the conspiracy against him.

When Clinton refused to meet with Jericho, he naturally accused the president of being part of the conspiracy.
