25 Best Moments Of WWE Monday Night RAW (Year-By-Year)

19. 1999: "It's Me, Austin!"

Okay, before you jump down our throats about not including Mankind's win over The Rock in January of 1999, we should remind you that if you have even a passing knowledge of the Attitude Era or WWE history, you'll likely know about that night and its impact on the Monday Night Wars in excruciating, tedious detail.

Rather, we're choosing to highlight one of the more infamous moments from 1999: the reveal of Vince McMahon as the "higher power" leading the Corporate Ministry that was terrorizing WWE.

Granted, the fact that Vince was the higher power is an incredibly ludicrous twist that pokes several gaping plot holes in a storyline that was likely started without an idea of how to end it. However, it's still a hilarious moment that gave us both an iconic Vince McMahon line ("It was me all along, Austin!") and an iconic Jim Ross call ("Aw, sonofabitch!").

As ridiculous and dumb as this scene was, the fact that we had an evil cult leader being revealed on a wrestling show demonstrates just the kind of absurd soap opera nature RAW is capable of.
