25 Biggest WWE Epic Failures Of 2016
5. The Club Lose Their Luster
Although Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were somewhat overshadowed by AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura when they were brought over by WWE from New Japan Pro Wrestling, they were poised to make major waves in the tag team division upon their arrival. Their feud with The Usos had been done to death over the month of May, but they maintained a mystique that solidified them as threats to the Raw Tag Team Championship heading into the summer.
A Club vs. New Day feud had potential on paper, but the execution was awful, especially when they resorted to unfunny comedy more often than not. Gallows and Anderson becoming the "good doctors" killed their mean streak while the "Old Day" skit from September will be forever remembered as one of the worst segments of 2016.
The Club likely would have won the belts at some point if New Day weren't in the midst of their record-setting reign as champions, but because they didn't, they lost a significant amount of credibility and currently come across as just another act on Raw. They could be resurrected, but for now, they feel far less special than they did eight months ago.
One can only hope Gallows and Anderson are reunited with Styles on SmackDown Live in next year's WWE Draft.
