20. Eva Marie Gets Suspended

Roman Reigns was far from the first person to violate the WWE Wellness Policy this year, as Eva Marie was also suspended for 30 days a little later in the summer. Similar to Reigns, Eva's suspension seemingly forced WWE to change whatever plans they had for SmackDown's women's division because she had been the focal point from the moment she arrived on the blue brand in July.

Granted, Eva is still an absolutely awful wrestler, but WWE deserves credit for doing an excellent job of having her avoid in-ring competition at all costs. Whether she pretended to be injured or have a "wardrobe malfunction," she found ways to postpone her in-ring debut each week. This built to a six-woman tag team match involving her at SummerSlam, but days ahead of the event, it was announced she had been suspended for violating WWE's Wellness Policy.

The suspension meant that she would miss not only SummerSlam but Backlash as well, which is where SmackDown would crown its inaugural Women's champion. It is very possible Eva would have won the title had she not had been removed from television, but either way, Becky Lynch captured the championship and the division was far better off for it.

Interestingly enough, she has yet to return due to her acting career taking off, though she could resurface any time now. It is unknown whether her push will pick up where it left off once she's back.
