4. WrestleMania XX - Goldberg And Brock Lesnar Stink Up MSG

Everyone who thought only a small percentage of wrestling fans were "smart" to WWE's backstage happenings was proven dead wrong at WrestleMania XX. Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg, two unstoppable behemoths, were heading into a much-hyped battle, but in the weeks leading up to the show, it became public knowledge that Goldberg was not renewing his contract, which expired after 'Mania, and Lesnar was leaving the company to try out for the NFL.

The result was a surreal atmosphere. The two men wrestled a match not unlike Rock and Hogan two years earlier, with plenty of pausing and playing for crowd reaction, but they were met with vociferous boos from the disinterested and angry Madison Square Garden crowd. Neither man being a ring general, there was no improvisation or attempt to salvage things - just sticking to the script despite the vitriol heading their way.

In the end, Goldberg pinned Lesnar and guest referee Steve Austin Stunned both men, getting the only pop of the match. Incredibly, 13 years later, a rematch of this catastrophe is set to headline WrestleMania. Thankfully, fans have forgave both men since.
