3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 10)

1. The Wrong Main Event

Adam Cole Wheeler Yuta
AEW

Wheeler Yuta has started to come into his own as a tag-team guy lately, but he was never a true threat to Adam Cole in this week's main event. Therein lies the problem: AEW stuck Yuta in a match above his pay grade and thought Cole's star power (along with The Young Bucks etc at ringside) would paper over cracks.

Uh uh.

No, this wasn't a bad match. In fact, there was a two/three-minute stretch near the end that was actually kinda fun, buuuuuuuut it shouldn't have been the last match on Rampage. The Tag-Team Title bout deserved that spot way more, so this would've been better-served as the show's opener.

AEW also have to start being careful about how many bodies they're throwing out there in one segment. There were far too many folks around the ring here, and none of them felt necessary. Even The Bucks came across as unwanted nuisances more than an essential part of the story.
