3 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Oct 18)
2. It's 2006 All Over Again
Last week on Smackdown, Tag Team Champions Rhyno and Heath Slater saved Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler from a three-on-one beating at the hands of The Miz and The Spirit Squad. That lead to this week's six-man tag team match.
The bout was simple and straightforward, but there was nothing wrong with it - it was a typical heated WWE multi-man tag. The heels got the heat on Dolph (leading to unlikely chants of "We want Slater!") and everything was solid. Eventually, Dolph tagged Slater, who ran wild on the heels. Rhyno hit Mikey with a Gore, but a shot from The Miz allowed Kenny to role Slater up for the pin.
Presumably, the win by The Spirit Squad means that they're the number one contenders to the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. That's fair - I've said it before, but they're a more credible team than Breezango, The Hype Bros, or The Ascension. They shouldn't win, but they make a good addition to the blue brand's roster.
