3 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 9)
3. The New Day Trio Are Losing Too Much
There was a stat that showed up on social media during Smackdown that was pretty alarming: The New Day are 2-14 in televised matches since June 1. Wins and losses in pro wrestling really don't matter THAT much because the stories in the ring are most important. However, when a performer or a team loses on nearly every show they are on it becomes a bad trend that makes you wonder what WWE is doing. The New Day trio of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods are on nearly every edition of Raw and Smackdown whether it's in a tag match or in singles. As you can see by that stat, they're usually out there to put people over. Why is that? They are former tag team champions that have a very entertaining act, so if anything they should be winning in a cheap manner the way they did on Raw. On this week's show, Titus O'Neil beat Big E in under three minutes. The idea is that the Prime Time Players have their number, but if the New Day keeps losing at this rate they are going to be reduced to the jobber tag team because nobody will see them as stars anymore.
