3 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 9)

1. Two Big Matches With Two Bad Finishes

The two biggest matches on Smackdown were Roman Reigns taking on Big Show at the top of hour two. In the main event, Seth Rollins battled Ryback in a "Champion vs. Champion" match with no titles on the line. Reigns vs. Big Show ended in the very predictable disqualification finish when Bray Wyatt showed up to cost Reigns the match. Anybody could see that coming, so of course that's what WWE did. Meanwhile, Rollins ran away from Ryback as if he is some amazing talent that is unbeatable. One guy is the WWE Champion and the other is the IC Champion. Put Rollins over. Then bring out Reigns to save Ryback. The countout finish is so lame. It makes people want to turn off the shows because they know the finishes don't matter. The problem is that Reigns rarely loses by pinfall and if he does it isn't clean. Rollins is booked like a chickens**t heel who can't win without help, so that's why they have so many terrible finishes during his TV matches. It seems likely that they will do Reigns/Ryback vs. Rollins/Show on Raw based on what happened to end Smackdown. Maybe that match will have a finish.
