Now out of all of the names on this list, Jason Jordan is the one that casual wrestling fans may not be too familiar with.

Jordan is an NXT talent who has a stellar background behind him. As well as being a three-time athlete in high school, he went on to wrestle in college, competing in the NCAA Division I and also going 35-0 in his senior year. Since appearing in NXT, he’s had various tag partners and has now started to branch out on his own, developing the persona of the smarmy, arrogant grappler who knows how good he is.

Now Shelton Benjamin didn’t technically debut on the main roster until 2002, but he was in the WWF system from late 1999/early 2000. As well as being known for being a legit athlete with an impressive background, Benjamin is best remembered by many for his tag team work and for then breaking out on his own and becoming the “gold standard”. Oh, and lots and lots of ladder match spots.

Where Benjamin fell down when it came to his mic work, it looks as if Jason Jordan is already one step ahead on that front, with his brief promo work in NXT suggesting that there’s a lot more to come from this talent.
