17. Erick Rowan/Nailz
Right about now, readers of a certain age will be thinking “Who?” If you missed Nailz, consider yourself one of the lucky ones.
Back in 1992, an ex-convict debuted on WWF television to get revenge on the Big Boss Man for what he claimed was abuse during his time inside. That ex-con would be Nailz, and the only abuse would be that suffered by those unfortunate to be watching this angle at the time. A brute of a man, Nailz would decimate jobbers (and Virgil… ) before losing against Boss Man at Survivor Series.
Now Erick Rowan seems to be a genuine talent, but there was a moment where we all thought he may end up future endeavoured once the Wyatt Family split up. A big powerhouse guy with a jumpsuit, no direction, and who rarely spoke? Yeah, that was certainly Rowan, but worryingly that’s also a description that could be pinned on Nailz.
Whereas Rowan seems back on track now that he’s re-teamed with Luke Harper, poor Nailz wouldn’t fare so well. After setting the stage for a feud with The Undertaker, Nailz would legitimately attempt to choke out Vince McMahon over a pay dispute, getting fired (duh!) in the process.
