Good lord, when will this lifeless nonsense end?

Uncle Howdy’s promo about Solo Sikoa’s crew coming to take the tag titles was boring as hell. Then, Solo and the MFTs appeared on the screen to say they were coming for the belts next week. Honestly, this is bloody awful. It’s maybe the worst direction WWE could’ve chosen for the tag belts on SmackDown. That division was heating up nicely, but this is dire.

Nothing actually happened this week either. It was another empty segment with hollow words and threats. Now, next week, Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis will step into the ring against a few of Solo's troops. Presumably, it'll be JC Mateo and Tama Tonga over anyone else. That'd make the most sense, but even JC's hard work and Tama's rock hard new musclebound physique won't be able to save this situation.

Look, everyone gets that Howdy is a tribute to Bray Wyatt and that's heartwarming. It doesn't, however, excuse WWE for turning The Sicks into one of the dullest acts on television right now. They've scuffed the vibrancy of the SmackDown tag ranks, and creative putting them in the spotlight has meant precious little for units who were doing God's work - like Fraxiom, The Street Profits, Angel & Berto and more.

Howdy sounded like he was ready to fall asleep inside the ring on SmackDown. Similarly, Sikoa just doesn't cut it as some ultra-violent, ominous mob boss who's calling the shots. He's best when he has comedic splashes in his arsenal, to be frank. This is torturous stuff. Simply torturous. It's Mamalukes vs. Harris Boys from WCW Souled Out 2000 fare.
