4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (23 May - Results & Review)

2. The Wyatt Sicks Return

Uncle Howdy and pals surprisingly returned to lay waste to practically the entire SmackDown tag-team division and wish Bray Wyatt a happy birthday right at the end of the episode. This was a lovely, sentimental moment, but now The Sicks can get involved in the tag title scene. That’s been one of SmackDown’s biggest strengths for a while now, so bring it on.

It's just nice to see The Sicks actually doing something again too. Howdy and gang haven’t been seen since December 2024. Sure, Fraxiom and The Street Profits were having a tidy match before that angle kicked off and WWE went to a non-finish, but creative can always hit repeat on their work soon. The most important thing is that The Wyatts have something to do on TV again.

Most would agree that it sucked when their rumoured WrestleMania 41 plans were shelved. Alexa Bliss is back on-screen herself, and she's still wearing some Wyatt-esque gear, so perhaps WWE will get back to whatever they had in mind for Las Vegas over the summer. They should. There are a few loose ends to tie up, and it wouldn't make sense to have Bliis strutting around holding Lilly without at least some interactions with Howdy and heavies.

Fans there live for SmackDown popped huge for The Wyatt Sicks, which is a positive sign people still care about them. Wishing Bray a happy heavenly birthday was unbelievably sweet for such a twisted stable, but this ambush will mean next to nothing if they don't become part of the weekly product again.
