4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 3)

5. Getting Their Win Back

Brawling Brutes Sheamus Drew McIntyre

Why-oh-why is this feud still trundling on?

Last week, Drew McIntyre teamed with New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to beat Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch. That was an acceptable TV main event, but WWE pressed the repeat button for SmackDown's opener on Friday night. Rinse and repeat, people.

The Brawling Brutes getting a return win over 'Drew Day' wasn't necessary at all. Worse, you just know there's a third "rubber match" coming soon. It's painfully lazy booking, and smacks of WWE phoning their programming in - that's not good enough, being honest.

50/50 booking is a general problem in WWE circles, and this was one of the most annoying examples of it. Christ knows how Michael Cole and Pat McAfee have anything left to say about this rivalry. It's not like either side is fighting for anything specific.
