4. Not A Great Night For Wrestling

In-between the ropes, WWE should be able to deliver solid to great action every week. The sheer volume of talent they have on their roster dictates that the wrestling almost has to be good.

But bad booking can severely drag down good wrestling, and that’s what happened Monday night. It’s almost impossible to become invested in a 10- or 20-minute match if it’s going to end in a DQ or a distraction finish or outside interference.

That’s exactly how Raw went, with four of seven matches ending either in a DQ or with a finish that included a distraction or interference. A fifth was stopped by the referee due to Indi Hartwell being loopy. A sixth arguably had interference that factored into the finish, with Natalya and Chelsea Green both hopping on the apron during the Piper Niven/Tegan Nox match.

That’s a terrible batting average, especially when your opener, main event and contest featuring the number one contender to the Intercontinental Championship all featured screwy finishes. Just a disappointing night overall.
