Very much building their upcoming Men's WarGames encounter as a battle of the generations, even branding the squads as "Team 2.0" and "Team Black and Gold" to hammer home the death of the old developmental scene, those in the back thought it would be a swell idea to send out the group of youngsters to hype up their Sunday night clash.

And while, in theory, giving the four 2.0 participants some mic time (plus Trick Williams acting as cheerleader) is probably the right call as the lads need to keep getting their reps in on live TV, last night's offerings were something of a mixed bag.

After Carmelo Hayes delivered his typical "A Champion" and "Future of WWE" spiel, his reminder of not missing when he shoots paved the way for a disappointing attempt to do that very same thing from Grayson Waller. Perhaps the only thing more painful than his attempts to be "controversial" was his failed effort to get "The Grayson Waller Effect" over. Not even Bron Breakker could gloss over the momentum being well and truly halted, stumbling slightly as he spat venom about wanting Tommaso Ciampa's belt after WarGames.

Thankfully, there's hope in the form of the charisma cannon that is Tony D'Angelo, claiming that the road paved before them by the OG's had four potholes that would be filled with their heads. Magic.

Breakker was ultimately picked to be in the impending ladder match against Johnny Gargano, to the surprise of no one, a move which his fellow teammates were likely hoping would overshadow a largely weak night on the mic.
