The WWE landscape looks significantly different these days. Of course, that has a lot to do with the fact that the unprecedented global events have resulted in the company broadcasting every single episode of their weekly programming and their PPVs from inside the WWE Performance Center, but it's also down to the fact that we've witnessed quite a few major returns over the past couple of months.

If you consider yourself a wrestling fan, you'll know that the return of a beloved superstar can result in an awe-inspiring moment that will could very well reinvigorate a superstar's career, and even stand the test of time as a classic moment. We've seen a number of immortal returns over the years, but how does 2020 stack up? Well, that's a tricky one.

In a sense, we haven't witnessed as many huge returns as we normally would (there are usually at least ten by now). That's more than likely down to everything happening in the world, but the company has still managed to give us some great ones since beginning of the year - and there were five of them that really stood out. With that in mind, let's meet this year's best returnees.

5. Sheamus - SmackDown (3 January 2020)

Sheamus and Cesaro's run together as The Bar had grown rather stale by the time that the former got injured, so when the 'Swiss Cyborg' confirmed that the team was officially over, it freed both of them up to reinvigorate their careers. 'The Celtic Warrior' attempted to do just that at the beginning of the year.

Sheamus' return on the first SmackDown of 2020 kicked off a new chapter for WWE's resident Fella - a chapter that just so happened to look strangely familiar to an old one. With his classic signature hairstyle back, he made a beeline for the ring to save Shorty G from The Revival, only to then turn around and decimate him with a Brogue Kick.

With a bad attitude and a lust for dominance, Sheamus planned on kicking off this new decade in similar fashion to how he kicked off the previous one... and even though some recent developments with the character have been, well, lacking, there is no denying that this moment was a welcome return to form for 'The Celtic Warrior'.
