5 Biggest Winners & Losers From WWE Raw (Oct 10)

4. Winner: Braun Strowman

“Braun Strowman isn’t very good” is a universally held thought throughout WWE’s fanbase. It’s got merit: the guy’s just a big, clunky mauler who struggles to execute anything other than the most rudimental moves, and his reverse Chokeslam finisher looks legitimately dangerous. Furthermore, he’s got the eyes of a newborn kitten, and when you’re trying to play a dominant monster character, that’s not exactly a good thing.

That being said, Strowman looks considerably better now than when he was initially drafted to Raw. Yes, he’s still incredibly basic, but he’s not going to turn into Kane or The Undertaker overnight. Week by week, Strowman looks increasingly comfortable in his role, and while he's still very green, that deserves some props. He’s slowly putting everything together, though his first competitive match against a skilled opponent will tell us a lot more about where he is on the development curve.

Last night’s Raw saw him smash a couple of local talents in a handicap match before reiterating last week’s demand for better competition. It’ll be interesting to see what Mick Foley has up his sleeve in this regard, because the Strowman squash format is reaching the end of its shelf life, and he needs to move. A simple but effective week for the former Wyatt Family member, who looks set to move into a bigger role on Raw.
