5 Potential Destinations For Jay White
2. AEW
Tony Khan needn't sprinkle subtle hints at Jay White's reemergence in AEW. Not only should White's hypothetical AEW comeback be a surprise at the conclusion of a pay-per-view, but it's believed that he's not contractually signed to AEW quite yet. Teasing Jay's return, being unable to come to terms with him, and instead sending out Adam Page in his place damages all involved, not least AEW's traditionally trusted relationship with its fans.
The very way in which he debuted in AEW - on Dynamite's 9 February 2022 broadcast - was a meticulous ploy by the company to garner the reaction White could attract in the company. Again, he's a major star within New Japan but outside, he's no Kazuchika Okada. Aiding the Young Bucks in a backstage beatdown of Roppongi Vice, the back of Jay White's leather jacket appeared before his face was shown; his Switchblade branding got him over in one fell swoop.
AEW knows precisely how to cater to Jay White's needs as a top star, but would he survive? The roster is bloated, top stars are already falling off the radar, and behind the scenes, it isn't exactly a wholesome landscape as was once portrayed. White would have thrived during the company's infant years - now, he may be nothing more than a dot on the map.
Still, Tony Khan knows when to throw his money around, so...
Probability: 50%.
