5 Things About WCW/ECW Invasion That Ruled (And 5 That Sucked)

4. Too Many McMahons

Another thing that sucked about the Invasion was that it was basically an excuse to do McMahon family feud version one hundred and fifty eight. The McMahon family had been feuding on television for a couple of years and it was getting tedious. When the Invasion storyline began a lot of fans were hoping that it would see the likes of Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman trying to take down Vince. Imagine Vince, Bischoff and Heyman battling on the mic every week during the invasion. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? What we actually got was Shane and an unbelievably obnoxious Stephanie playing out their family drama on TV week after week to ever diminishing returns. There was some good stuff with Vince, Steph and Shane, sure, but it just felt like the same old stuff that we'd seen before. Besides, fans knew that when Vince did inevitably win the feud, Shane and Stephanie would be back on TV sooner rather than later (boy did that turn out to be true).
