5 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (Jan 6)

2. Good ‘Go Home’ Speech

Hangman Page
AEW

Hangman Page, doctor's clearance papers in hand, cut through Jon Moxley with a surprising level of panache during his pre-taped insert on Rampage. It's not that Page is bad at promos (far from it) - it's that he's been placed in so many absurdist comedy spots with The Dark Order over the past few years that one forgets how intense he can be.

He packed a lot into a short space of time here, including suggesting the BCC "gets horny watching MMA" in Mox's basement during their downtime away from the ring. That brief flirtation with laughs aside, Hangman was all business, and he was better for the chiefly serious tone.

It's no accident that this dude is 100x more effective as a grittier character.

Side note: This isn't strong enough to earn a full 'Down', but Chris Jericho's senseless line afterwards wasn't needed within the context of the show. "That was a great, great promo"? Come on now. What next? "Excellent selling there from Hangman for Moxley" come Dynamite?
