5 Ups & 1 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Mar 7)

Ups...

5. The EST Of NXT

Bianca Belair

Regular readers of this column will note recurring praise for Bianca Belair, who, at the moment, looks like one of the hottest young prospects in the company. She's not on the same level as a Kairi Sane between the ropes yet, but her act is coming together tremendously. The swagger is already there, her charisma is palpable, and if she continues on her current trajectory, there's no reason she can't be challenging the likes of Shayna Baszler and Ember Moon by year's end.

'The EST of NXT' was back in action last night, squashing the unfortunate Drew Renee in just under a minute. Like her last in-ring mauling, Belair totally dominated, hitting her opponent with three rolling suplexes, then finishing her off with her reverse powerbomb finisher.

It was totally effective in presenting Bianca's dominance. Sure, WWE can't book her in one-sided squashes forever, but they're doing a solid job of establishing her on the brand. Belair will no doubt find herself mixing it up with the division's top stars in the near future, which will provide the real acid test of where she's at in her development.
