5 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Mar 28)

3. Dunne & Roddy Conquer Sanity

Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong are a tremendous little tag team. They came together in a smart, logical way, and while their personalities don't seem like they should mesh, their wrestling styles certainly do. Both work with a stiffness belying their diminutive statures, and after an absolute hoot of a clash with Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch last week, they met Sanity in NXT's main event.

The match was perfectly solid, with Strong and Dunne showing increased cohesion. They bonded through respect, not friendship, and it shows. They probably aren't hanging out with each other after they show, and definitely aren't friends, but they admire each others' abilities, and this saw them battle through the spirited Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe on the road to victory.

Lord knows how long this union will last. 'The Bruiserweight' is, frankly, an utter bastard, and it's impossible to shake the fear that he could stab Roddy in the back at any time. An implosion seems likely, but they've made for a great addition to the Dusty Classic. Now, they're set to face The Authors Of Pain in the tourney finals, and while those who keep up with spoilers already know how that one ends, let's hope the match at least lives up to its potential.
