5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (11 Apr - Results & Review)

1. Months Of Tag Build For This?!

Well, this is a body blow.

It's worth pointing out that WWE could book a screwy finish between The Street Profits and the Motor City Machine Guns on next week's episode and thus lead into a multi-team affair at 'Mania. Sure, they could, but it's up in the air as things stand. Right now, all we know is that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley will challenge Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins on "WrestleMania SmackDown".

How about all those other squads who have been vying for the belts? DIY are moaning about conspiracies, Pretty Deadly are laughing at them, Los Garza are busy with Rey Fenix and Andrade, and the new combo of Carmelo Hayes and The Miz are yukking it up in backstage skits. Erm...what happened here, and how did the writers go from a can't miss sleeper hit to everyone potentially skipping the biggest show(s) of the entire year?

It'd be crap if The Profits, MCMG, Pretty Deadly, Los Garza and even 'Melo Don't Miz' had to sit on the sidelines and watch 'Mania happen without them. The entire tag-team scene has been red hot on SmackDown for months, but all of that TV time will be wasted if they're not involved in Las Vegas.

Hopes are dimming on a rumoured ladder match between all of those tandems. Hell, stick it on the card and have The Hardys come out again as a last-minute surprise like they did back in 2017 at WrestleMania 33. That's better than the thought of these teams missing out on a pay day.

They'd be one of the few multi-man matches on 'Mania that actually makes sense.
