5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (25 July - Results & Review)

1. Wait, Why Did Tiffany Stratton Rush In?

Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill aren't friends. WWE has made it clear that neither woman particularly hates the other, but both view themselves as the rightful leaders of a new wave of talent in the women's game. Stratton has the belt and worked hard to get it, meanwhile Jade believes she's a champion elect who'll prove why she's the greatest come SummerSlam.

It's a simple story, one that works, so erm...why did Tiffany run out to even the odds and help Cargill? Chelsea Green's Secret Hervice were beating Jade down, then Stratton rushed out like Cargill was her bestie. There’s been some aggro between champ and challenger in recent weeks, then Cargill played tug-o-war with the Women’s Title before pointing at Tiffy and leaving. The babyface stuff is all over the place between this pair, which has become a bit of a problem with Stratton generally.

She’s a star, but Tiffy often doesn’t come across as particularly likeable.

There was no need to have her run in and save Jade here. None. WWE better have some improved last minute build than this in store next week. They cannot let Stratton and Cargill roll into their SummerSlam clash this way. It isn't enough. In fact, the entire story has been lacklustre, because WWE pressed pause so Trish Stratus could get a babyface vs. babyface bout with Tiffany at Evolution too.

How are they managing to screw this up?! These women are success stories and their match is legit refreshing. People should be pumped going into it. Right now, it's a struggle.
