5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (3 May - Results & Review)

Ups...

5. LA Knight In King Of The Ring

LA Knight
WWE

The lively French crowd and LA Knight being over as hell did most of the heavy lifting for his match vs. Legado del Fantasma member Angel. That's fine - the match was the kind you'd forget within five minutes, but it was mere setup for LA's post-match promo and King Of The Ring inclusion.

That paved the way for Santos Escobar to say he's in as well.

Apparently, there are no qualifiers for KOTR this time. Wrestlers just declare themselves and brand GMs are like, 'Sounds good to us!'. Fair play. It'd be silly to argue against sticking Knight (in particular) in the brackets anyway, 'cause he doesn't have a lot to do right now whilst chief rival AJ Styles works main events.

WWE revealed that their King and Queen Of The Ring tourneys will start on Monday's Raw. In other words, you're getting semi finals and then finals at best over in Saudi Arabia on the actual PLE. No one-night tournaments for Hunter, it seems.
