5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (8 Aug - Results & Review)

3. More Wyatt Sicks Blabbing

Uncle Howdy and his Wyatt Sicks appeared in a pre-tape to say people haven’t seen anything yet and make more ominous, cryptic threats. Got to admit, this guy is personally over the whole gimmick. Making grandiose promises time and time again only gets an act so far, especially when the leader speaks in riddles. 'You haven't seen anything yet', 'We're coming for everyone's souls'. Blah, blah, blah.

BLAH!

Here's the deal: The Sicks leading the SmackDown tag division as champs will strangle it, so hopefully they don’t have a lengthy reign with the belts. It was interesting when they first showed up to butt in on the competition that was already rife on Fridays, but things have become less and less compelling by the week, and they were arguably the weakest aspect of SummerSlam’s TLC match. This was just more of the same old, same old from the group.

They're completely at odds with everything else going on. DIY are moaning that no-one else has done enough to fight them off, and there's real human impact stemming from TLC bumps for acts like The Street Profits, Motor City Machine Guns and even Candice LeRae. Then, you've got Howdy and gang - they exist in their own universe, and have been completely unaffected by one of the most dangerous stunt shows of the year.

It's hard to take any of this seriously. What's the point if they can't show fragility after going through hell at TLC, y'know? These promo skits are an exercise in dull repetition.
