4. Unnecessary Teamwork

SmackDown has had some excellent multi-mans over the past month or so.

Was this another one of those? Meh, sort of. The problem is that all these duos teaming up together is rather played out now - people have seen it all before, and that meant this week's eight-man offered nothing new. There was also an issue with the logic.

Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode will put their Tag-Team Titles on the line in a Fatal-4-Way on next week's show, so it didn't really make sense that they were teaming with Chad Gable and Otis here. It was a decent sprint, and Montez Ford (in particular) looked good, but there was nothing at stake either.

Worse, it's now blatantly obvious that the designated pre-pay-per-view push team (Alpha Academy) won't win the belts on next week's 'Mania special. That kinda's stifles their momentum, and almost makes their inclusion in the 4-Way meaningless.
