5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 3)

1. The Amount Of Actual Wrestling

SmackDown was wrestling heavy.

The four matches offered ranged from decent TV fare to borderline pay-per-view quality. In fact, there's an argument to be made that John Morrison would give Riddle a better showcase at Extreme Rules than 'King' Corbin. The same could be said for his partner The Miz, actually, and it's not like those guys have anything else going on anyway.

Drew Gulak's big shot at becoming Intercontinental Champion worked well (he was never winning, but the bell-to-bell action was technically sturdy), the Kofi Kingston vs. Shinsuke Nakamura main event had a nice pace to it and later set up a new pay-per-view match, and Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss served its purpose.

All in all, WWE presented close to 50 minutes of wrestling across the two-hour show. Take into account ad breaks, promos and other segments and that's not too shabby. Nothing felt too long or too short either - it was all perfectly timed.
