5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE WrestleMania VIII

1. The Savage/Flair Affair

The frantic energy throughout Randy Savage's quest to regain the WWE Championship is a credit not only to his typical frenzy, but also Ric Flair and Mr Perfect's rampant sh*thousery and the sheer heat Miss Elizabeth could draw by finding herself under the tiniest hint of threat.

The Macho Man was at long last loving rather than laissez faire with her safety - all the more tragic that she'd be gone from the company in April ahead of their real life divorce later in the year.

In slyly suggesting that he'd "She was mine before she was yours", Flair tore at the hearts of the fanbase as he did the fabric of the Savage union. It justified Randy tearing at his tights to take the thing he valued most of all. And on a show where so many stars would vanish without trace the night after, Vince McMahon at least had the benefit of these two sticking around.
