5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Feb 18)

1. Kevin Owens Should Have Focused More On 6-Man Tag

Mauro Ranallo was conspicuous by his absence on the latest edition of Smackdown. The announcer went down with flu before the show was taped and WWE decided to replace him with Michael Cole for the evening. That didn't prove to be a positive, certainly not during the broadcast's opening bout. Cole has his detractors, but he's very good at working within WWE's often restrictive parameters and presenting the kind of show management want to see. Truthfully, he wasn't the problem. The real issue came with Kevin Owens, who spent far too much time repeatedly running down the commentator instead of focusing on the match in front of him. Criticism is rare for Owens, because he's usually on point, but his performance here wasn't good. The action inside the ring was good, so that should have really remained the focus. Worse yet, Dolph Ziggler was one of the participants, and he's a man KO is currently feuding with. A good match featuring his PPV opponent and he's focused on the announcer? Why?
