5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (April 15th)
Some filler, some killer.
There are a lot of reasons to get the WWE Network, but chief amongst them is the weekly showing from NXT, the WWE's unofficial 3rd brand. A leaner, some might say 'more pure', wrestling show than its gaudier older sisters, NXT doesn't waste the precious minutes its given, and is capable of packing just as many talking points into its scant running time as RAW and Smackdown. And scant it was this week. NXT clocked in at just under 50 minutes. It was a show primarily hyped by two events, the debut of Dana Brooke and a showdown between Sami Zayn and the Manbeast, Rhyno. One of these events delivered on its hype, the other ... not so much. Other than that, there was not much evidence that this weekly edition of NXT was set to be anything other than a workmanlike affair. There was a distinct air of unimportance throughout, and though NXT filler is gourmet filler compared to Big Show vs Reigns #34, this edition of the developmental division in unlikely to be remembered much beyond the weekend. But there is still much to discuss from NXT #273.
