4. Angle For The Sake Of Angle

Quick, what is Kurt Angle’s purpose in WWE today?

If you figure it out, please let the rest of us know, because he looks more like he’s filling Goldust’s role of a legend/Hall-of-Famer randomly showing up to get a huge pop without a real overarching storyline.

Angle was eviscerated by Drew McIntyre last year, leading to speculation about him retiring. But Angle returned to the ring, including an uneventful run in the Royal Rumble. He then lost to Baron Corbin, leading again to speculation that he didn’t have it. He’s teamed with Braun Strowman a couple of times, but that’s about it.

Monday, he showed up to dispatch Jinder Mahal because, why not? The worst part is that Angle looks like a shell of himself, barely able to do much more than hit German suplexes and slap on an anklelock.

He’s clearly nowhere near the wrestler he once was, which makes it even worse that he’s thrown out there for no reason beyond a crowd pop.
