1. Simple And Effective

Not every segment plugging a match needs to have multiple twists and turns with proverbial fireworks going off. Sometimes, a simple, direct verbal joust does the trick.

Goldberg versus Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship is an intriguing match because it pits a desperate champ against an unstoppable force. Owens loves to stall and play mindgames, while Goldberg matches are typically measured in seconds, not minutes. So having Goldberg, a man not known for his promo skills, simply deliver a promise that he will win the title on Sunday was effective enough to get across his conviction.

And after his brilliant promo last week, all KO had to do was back it up, which he did by noting that he’s beaten all the major stars in WWE since debuting. Sure, he could end up being cannon fodder for Goldberg, but Owens played his part Monday night well.
