5 Ways WWE Can Maximize Interest In WrestleMania 32

3. ATG Memorial Battle Royal For #1 Contendership

The WWE should be commended for actually sticking with a new idea instead of abandoning it after one year. The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal has been held at each of the past two WrestleManias and will hopefully continue in 2016. When Cesaro won the first one at WrestleMania XXX, the match felt like it could be made into something big. Perhaps, the hopeful WrestleMania staple could be the new way of elevating the next mid-card superstar in the same way the former King of the Ring PPV and Money In The Bank had done. Last year, because of the size comparison to Andre throughout his career, Big Show winning didn't really hurt the legacy as much as one might think, but it also didn't do much to help the match's reputation either. Maybe, as they say, the third time's a charm... By putting a prize on the line that is bigger than the trophy (which only appears to make TV for, at best, a couple of weeks), the match could really be taken to a new level. For years, a WrestleMania battle royal was always a foregone conclusion due to the number of talents that would be able to get a payday, but it was always a meaningless pre-show match with little fanfare. By putting the No.1 contendership to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line, it adds to the prestige of the battle royal while also requiring the audience to become invested into the match and subsequent winner.
