Say hi to the angle that forced Roman Reigns to tell WWE creative enough is enough. According to Paul Heyman, Roman was less than thrilled with the writing for his late-2019 feud with Baron Corbin. On the 6 December SmackDown, things peaked. Or dipped. Corbin and pals smeared Reigns in dog food after cuffing him to the ring post, and the show went off the air with a miserable 'Big Dog' covered in Pedigree Chum.

This banner low for WWE creativity birthed Roman's 'Tribal Chief' reinvention, so it has a place in the conversation for 'best worst moment ever'. The Bloodline story might never have happened had Baron not emptied some cans of dog meat all over Reigns and ticked the babyface off to the point that he flexed muscles behind the curtain to inspire change.

That came next. In the heat of the moment, the dog food stuff was awful.

WWE got literal with Roman's 'Big Dog' nickname when they really didn't need to. At one point, Corbin even brought out a mascot dressed as the graphic from Reigns tron (complete with ear-hammering woof-heavy version of his Shield theme). This was low rent fare, but the company hoped it'd make people want to see Roman destroy Baron on the next pay-per-view.

As aforementioned, the only get out clause this storyline has is that it forced a complete shift for Reigns as an onscreen character the next year. He promised never to let himself bow down to the whims of a creative staff who painted in broad strokes again.
