As reported last month via The Wrestling Observer, WWE has shown some interest in signing 6' 2", 300lbs Samoan Jacob Fatu. The current MLW standout has that traditionally thick Samoan look, and he's the son of former WWE star Tama/The Tonga Kid. His uncles, Rikishi and Umaga were also top names in their day, and he's cousins with The Usos too.

WWE would know what they're getting then.

Dave Meltzer did say that AEW are also interested and hinted that a bidding war could start for Fatu's services. That's a good sign. If two of the biggest companies in pro wrestling right now are sniffing around, then you know Jacob has something. He's shown in MLW (as part of the Contra Unit stable with Josef Samuel and former Vaudevillain Simon Gotch) that he has a great work ethic.

Fatu is one to keep your eye on. If he goes to NXT, for example, then he'll blow up. That might actually be a better bet for Jacob right now than AEW. He's raw potential that needs some polishing, and WWE have a long history of doing that with his family.
