2. No NXT Involvement Whatsoever
As of this writing, the only participants in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal are: The Miz, Curtis Axel, Ryback, Fandango, Adam Rose, Zack Ryder, Jack Swagger, Titus ONeil and Darren Young. It is also rumored that this years Battle Royal is only going to feature 20 entrants, as opposed to 30 at last years event. The smaller number of participants in this important match, which appears to be an annual event going forward, raises an equally-important question: if WWE are low on participants for the Battle Royal, why dont they include superstars from NXT as well? It remains a mystery as to why the main shows fail to mention NXT on a regular basis, outside of the odd WWE Network special plug. The members of the NXT roster ARE WWE-contracted talent, right? And dont some fans love NXT so much that its the main reason why they subscribe to the WWE Network? If both of these statements are true, then WWE are missing out on a golden opportunity to not only appeal to fans who love WWEs third show, but to increase the overall viewership of WrestleMania. No matter how much WWEs top brass try to ignore or deny it, there is a healthy portion of the WWE Universe that simply adores NXT and what Triple H has done with it. As such, if the only reason the NXT Superstars arent being featured on the main show is due to jealousy or politics, then whoever is preventing the NXT roster from showing up is not looking out for WWEs best interests. The NXT Superstars could simply be added to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal to fill in the numbers and add some more unpredictability and excitement to the match. Having other stars that arent considered favorites or easy picks to win would make the match more exciting, which is supposed to the goal of this match in the first place, right?
