With Kazuchika Okada having signed with AEW and aligned with the Young Bucks to form a new iteration of the Elite, Collision marked Okada's first match since officially becoming #AllElite - and it was a segment that managed to be effective in several ways.
The contest itself was largely an afterthought, with Adrian Alanis, Jon Cruz, and Liam Gray put away in barely two minutes as the Rainmaker dominated the trio. Showcasing the cocksure, brash, heel Okada - including one of his patented beautiful dropkicks - this was here just to give the Eltie a win and give a brief glimpse into the brilliance of Kazuchika Okada.
Post-match is where things really got tasty, with Eddie Kingston coming out to attack the Elite in response to the beating they put on the Mad King on Dynamite. Once the numbers game took over, Kingston was then joined by Penta El Zero Miedo, who likewise was taken down by Okada and the Jacksons. Then, well then we got the hotly anticipated return of PAC.
The Bastard has been absent from AEW programming for far too long - since July, to be precise - and so it was fantastic to welcome the ridiculously talented Geordie back into action, with him manhandling Kazuchika Okada ahead of a six-man match between these two sides at Big Business next week.
Within just two segments of television, we have the seeds in place for the mouth-watering prospect of both Okada vs. Kingston and Okada vs. PAC, in addition to establishing Kazuchika as part of the smarmy, arrogant Elite.
