6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Monday Night Raw (10 November - Results & Review)

5. Tournament Looks To Heat Up

The Last Time Is Now Je'Von Evans Gunther

After a dismal start to The Last Time Is Now Tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent, things took a dramatic upturn Monday night when Raw GM Adam Pearce revealed the next two Raw matches for next week.

Je’Von Evans will get another chance to shine on the main roster, but he will face the returning Gunther in a match that is all but guaranteed to slap. The Ring General tends to do very well in these “styles clash” matches, and Evans is an absolutely electric performer. If it’s given room to breathe, this could rival anything WWE pumps out.

The other match taking place at Madison Square Garden will pit Solo Sikoa against a mystery opponent. Given that the other match announced includes an NXT superstar and a returning wrestler, odds are this is a person who “doesn’t work here.” In that case, your best bet would be for nearby Long Island’s own Matt Cardona to show up. He’d get a hero’s welcome, and a midcard clown heel like Solo would be a perfect opponent.

See? Fun and unique matches between top talent, rookies, and mystery opponents. Granted, not every match can be like this, but that was a rough start Monday night. Glad to see it’s looking up.
