What a pair of p*ss takers.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were set for a rematch vs. Jinder Mahal and Shanky when the light-hearted pair pointed out that nobody wanted to see it. Fair point. Then, New Day said they don't work rematch after rematch anyway. There was a sly smile as they delivered that line.

Clearly, this was a rib on the writers for putting them in...rematch after rematch. You've got to love that self-deprecating humour from creative - even they know that WWE telly is often a relentless grind of repeats fans have seen before. This was as close to 'sorry' as you're gonna get.

It was a throwaway line, but it stood out. New Day came across as fun-loving pranksters who didn't see The Viking Raiders' blindside ambush coming. That added weight to what Erik and Ivar had planned too, which is lovely.
