6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 6 - Results & Review)

1. The Show-Closer’s Upside

Look, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso announcing they'd be there in advance was silly, but the show-ending brawl on SmackDown made for red hot TV. Fans in attendance for the show loved every second of it, and it's fair to say WWE is onto something with Cena, Knight, Cody and Jey as a unit allied against this Bloodline and Judgment Day mix.

WarGames awaits, probably.

Most will likely be cool with that if it means Survivor Series isn't some Raw vs. SmackDown reprise. For now, seeing Rhea Ripley pull strings and Paul Heyman get into the nitty gritty of business dealings outside The Bloodline nest is really, really interesting.

It's safe to say the show-closing scrap worked despite that prior moan in the 'Downs' section. Yes, Rhodes and Uso magically being there just to add numbers to a situation that hadn't developed yet made no sense, but the electric combo of crowd noise and star power was hard to resist.
