6 Ups & 4 Downs For WWE Raw (13 Oct - Results & Review)

1. Another Clunky Main Event

Lost in the shuffle of a memorable ending to Raw was a main event that was error-prone and instantly forgettable.

CM Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso battled to be the top contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, but the match felt far from a monumental main event struggle for a shot at the show’s top prize. WWE triple threats have largely been well-agented this year, with some intricate, fun spots and solid action throughout. This was not that.

Several times, the wrestlers stumbled about the ring from spot to spot. Punk looked gassed a few minutes into the match, while Jey whiffed on a pair of thrust kicks. Knight’s double elbow drop was ambitious, but he ended up barely grazing Punk with his forearm while almost landing on Uso.

When Punk landed the GTS on Jey for the win, it felt like an anticlimactic afterthought, rather than the former World Heavyweight Champion getting one step closer to reclaiming his title. That’s not a good thing.
