Stephanie Vaquer has come a long way on the main roster in a short period of time. Her ascension to Women’s World Champion might have come sooner than originally planned due to Naomi’s pregnancy, but she looked poised and ready for the challenges to come on Monday night.

As with several international superstars, it’s always impressive to hear someone cut a promo in a language that isn’t their native tongue. Vaquer did a solid job expressing gratitude for fan support as she achieved her dream, shouting out her father as her hero. She then warned the roster that “nobody can stop me,” which is a bold claim given the talent in the locker room.

Later, La Primera ran into Nikki Bella and Rhea Ripley, with Rhea laying claim once again to the title, before Asuka blew up the respectful meet-up. Just in that one segment, there were three potential challengers thrown in front of Vaquer, giving fans something to anticipate.

There was one knock against this, but it’s more circumstance and the calendar’s faults, not WWE. Vaquer just won the title, and her first big match will be for the Crown Jewel Championship against whoever wins the triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship this week. That means that there will be two weeks to ramp up for what will be a first-time-ever match.

It also means that Vaquer very likely won’t be defending – or even sparring with a potential challenger – for nearly a month right after winning the title. Maybe WWE will start building a title feud even with Crown Jewel looming, as it is possible to walk and chew gum at the same time. This is a very minor thing, but it just bears mentioning.
