6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 16)

2. Bianca Belair Gets More Edge

This slow-burn heel turn stuff Bianca Belair is trying on will be a treat.

She has the chops to pull it off, and proved that on SmackDown. In fact, Bianca saved the Grayson Waller Effect segment with Charlotte Flair. It was dying a death before she walked out and ranted about the injustice of Charlotte queue-hopping to the front of the line like some entitled brat.

There was conviction to everything Belair said. That might be because there's some truth to it. Charlotte does rock up sporadically and jump to the front for title shots. She knows it, her peers know it, fans know it, and WWE creative apparently knows it too.

Making that part of her story works provided she's full-on heel. The babyface thing doesn't work for Flair. It did for Bianca, but she's onto a new chapter of her career after dropping the belt to Asuka. If this was any indicator of what's coming next, then it'll be some journey.
