2. Rejuvenating The Women’s Division
Liv Morgan turned the embarrassing fact that she hadn’t defended her Women’s World Championship between WrestleMania and SummerSlam into a heel talking point about how no women wanted to face her, but the reality is that the women’s division has been a mess for quite some time now.
WWE injected some life into the division Monday night during a segment in which the Judgment Day beat down Sol Ruca three-on-one after Mogan caused a disqualification in Sol’s match against Roxanne Perez.
As the beating continued, Becky Lynch made a shock return and declared that she was back for the Women’s World Championship to make sure another 100 days don’t pass before Liv defends the title again. She accused Morgan of becoming a glorified valet, focused on being flirty rather than fighting.
Judgment Day bailed up the ramp, but they were met with a wall of fire and another shocking return: Stephanie Vaquer. La Primera took out Roxanne and Raquel Rodriguez, then chased Liv back to the ring for a beatdown before she and Becky went face-to-face.
Just like that, the women’s division looked alive again. Vaquer was sorely missed, and Lynch could straddle the face/heel line a bit depending on the needs of the moment.
