I know I've been saying this for ages now but the Dain/Maverick thing is brilliant. Mismatched partners seldom ever work in pro-wrestling, but there's just something about the glaring personality clash combined with the British connection of this that plays really well. I absolutely buy that Maverick would be this irritating here, but more importantly, I buy Dain's every action.

He doesn't want to be his partner, so he doesn't join him for the match. He didn't agree to any of this so he takes no part. Only when confronted by Regal does he even head to the ring and, even then, he only gets involved with the match because he's provoked by Strong.

Long-term there isn't any legs in this team but there's definitely going to be enough of a unifying motivation to get one really good match (or possibly even a run) out of them. Plus the DQ finish here allows for that ultimate opponent to be the Undisputed Era.
